About South Pointe Park

South Pointe Park covers 17 acres at the southern tip of Miami Beach, with views of the port's cruise traffic, the downtown skyline and Fisher Island. It opened in 1985 and reopened in 2009 after a $22.5 million redesign. The 450-foot pier is a favorite for fishing and sunset walks, and the park also has beach access, walking paths, picnic and grill areas, a children's splash zone, a cafe and an off-leash dog area. Parking is paid, so many visitors walk down from South Beach.
