Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park covers 244 acres on a narrow peninsula between Casco Bay and the Harraseeket River on the southeast side of Freeport. Trails wind through white pine and hemlock woods, past a salt marsh and onto rocky shore. The Casco Bay Trail follows the coast, and ospreys nest on Googins Island just offshore. The land came from the Smith family's farm and opened as a park in 1972. Day use costs $4 for Maine adults and $6 for non-residents, collected year-round.
