About World War II Veterans Memorial State Park

Managed by the state since the 1960s, this Woonsocket park began with a bathhouse and beach. Later renovations by a mix of state, federal, and community agencies added lawns, a fountain, footpaths, playground equipment, and courts for tennis and volleyball. The park was formally named for World War II veterans in 1977. It is the anchor for AutumnFest, a three-day fair held each year since 1979 with food, exhibits, entertainment, and a large parade. Facilities listed include parking, a pavilion, a shuffleboard court, and a playground. Larger groups planning events need a Special Use Permit applied for online at least 30 days ahead.
