About Levine Museum of the New South

Levine Museum of the New South focuses on Southern history with particular attention to the Charlotte region. Its exhibitions aim to highlight shared histories that are seldom discussed together, and it hosts conversations, festivals, and guided experiences that bring neighbors into dialogue. The museum also supports classroom learning through case studies, fellowships, and teacher training, and it runs youth programs and camps. Its origins date to the early 1990s under a different name, and it was later renamed to honor a major patron. The museum has announced plans for a future home in Charlotte's South End neighborhood and offers a mobile exhibition that travels beyond its walls.
