About Chestnut Ridge Park

Chestnut Ridge is Erie County's largest park, about 1,151 acres of wooded hills south of Buffalo, opened as a county park in 1926. In its southwest corner a trail leads to Eternal Flame Falls, a small waterfall where a natural eternal flame burns. The 1938 stone and timber Casino lodge sits atop the sledding hill, which looks toward Buffalo and Lake Erie. In winter there are toboggan chutes, a ski tow and sledding; in summer, disc golf, tennis and picnic shelters.
