Dinosaur Valley State Park sits on the Paluxy River near Glen Rose, a short drive from Fort Worth, and protects dinosaur tracks pressed into mud about 113 million years ago. You can walk down to the riverbed to see three-toed theropod prints, most likely left by Acrocanthosaurus, and the yard-long footprints of a giant sauropod. The park also has 20 miles of trails, campsites, swimming, fishing and paddling. The tracks are not always visible, so check track and trail status with the park first, and reserve a day pass because the park often fills up.
