About Franny Reese State Park

Set in the Hudson Valley, this 251-acre park offers more than 2.5 miles of hiking and biking trails along an old carriage road. Walkers pass the remains of a 19th-century mansion and reach an overlook with views of the Hudson River, the Mid-Hudson Bridge, and Poughkeepsie. A connecting trail links to the Walkway Loop Trail and Walkway Over the Hudson. The land was protected by Scenic Hudson in 2003 and named for environmentalist Frances Franny Reese. The state park officially opened in 2009. Visitors should watch for deer ticks in the area.
