Garfield Park Conservatory

300 N Central Park Ave · Chicago, IL

Why you should go…

Designed by landscape architect Jens Jensen in 1908 as 'landscape art under glass,' Garfield Park Conservatory shelters roughly two acres of gardens beneath its sweeping haystack-shaped dome on Chicago's West Side. Wander from the towering palms of the Palm House to the prehistoric ferns and indoor lagoon of the Fern Room and the cacti of the Desert House, then out into ten acres of outdoor gardens. Adult admission is $10, and Chicago residents enter free. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
