About Humboldt (Alexander Von) Park

Humboldt Park covers roughly 197 acres on the city's West Side. Its historic fieldhouse includes a fitness center and two gymnasiums, and the park also offers an inland beach, historic lagoons, and a boat house. Visitors can use baseball fields, soccer fields, tennis courts, and a replica of Wrigley Field known as Little Cubs Field, plus several playgrounds. The National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture occupies the historic park stables. The park is named for the German naturalist Alexander von Humboldt, and it was designed in part by landscape architect Jens Jensen, who was known for his Prairie style. Festivals, movies, and seasonal events are held here throughout the year.
