Hogback Ridge takes its name from a high, narrow ridge with steep valleys on either side, sitting between the Grand River to the north and Mill Creek to the south. The ridge itself has no marked trails, but a trail system with a 1,300-foot accessible boardwalk and overlook deck leads through upland forest and creek floodplain. Ohio has designated this stretch of the Grand as a Wild River, and anglers fish both waterways. Wildflowers are most striking from late March through May. Visitors can also find picnic areas, a shelter, and river access, and the park's history includes old fords and a mill near the river junction.
