Lake Powell is the reservoir behind Glen Canyon Dam on the Colorado River. It lies mostly in southern Utah, with a small part in northern Arizona, inside Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. You come here to boat, fish, waterski, kayak and houseboat among sandstone canyons, launching from marinas such as Wahweap, Antelope Point and Bullfrog. The lake has about 1,900 miles of shoreline, and Rainbow Bridge National Monument sits on the Utah side. Water levels change, so check current conditions before you launch.
