30 Lake Waramaug Road, New Preston, CT 06777 · Kent, CT
This compact state park sits on the northwest side of a large glacial lake in the Litchfield Hills. Visitors come for swimming at the park beach, boating and paddling, fishing for bass and perch, and camping at a wooded and open campground with rustic cabins. A popular eight-mile bike loop circles the lake, passing wineries and other nearby attractions. The park is especially photogenic in autumn, when foliage reflects in the calm water.
