Little Sahara State Park lies south of Waynoka in northwest Oklahoma and covers over 1,600 acres of dunes that rise roughly 25 to 75 feet. The dunes formed from old terrace deposits left when the Cimarron River covered the area. The park's main draw is riding dune buggies and ATVs across the sand, either on your own machine or one rented from a private vendor off-site. Campers can use RV sites with hookups, tent sites, and picnic areas, and all campsites must be booked online. Concessions are not offered inside the park, so supplies come from Waynoka. Riding has safety requirements, including flags, whips, lights, and helmet rules for younger riders.
