About Robbers Cave State Park

Set in the Sans Bois Mountains of southeast Oklahoma, this state park covers more than 8,000 acres that include the park and an adjoining wildlife management area, with three lakes. Visitors use it for rappelling and rock climbing on sandstone cliffs, horseback riding, ATV riding, hiking, canoeing and kayaking, and fishing. The park's history stretches from earlier outlaw hideouts to a Boy Scout camp founded in 1929 and Civilian Conservation Corps work in the 1930s. Its lodge, cabins, yurts, a covered wagon stay, and several campgrounds give overnight guests a range of options, and the grounds include rustic CCC-era design.
