About Mecom Fountain

Mecom Fountain sits in the roundabout where Main Street and Montrose Boulevard meet in Houston. The Hermann Park Conservancy describes it as a striking fountain and a well-known symbol of the city. It was designed by Eugene Werlin, completed in 1964, and given to the city by John W. and Mary Mecom. When it was finished, it was the largest fountain in Houston.
