About Monadnock State Park

Monadnock State Park surrounds Mount Monadnock in Jaffrey, New Hampshire, and covers roughly 1,017 acres of protected highland. The mountain rises to about 3,165 feet and stands well above other peaks in the region. Visitors hike several trailheads, including the Headquarters, Old Toll Road, and Gilson Pond routes, to reach the open summit. The park has two campgrounds, one at Headquarters and one at Gilson Pond, though camping is not allowed on the mountain itself. Because parking is limited, especially on weekends, reservations are strongly recommended. Pets are not permitted in the park, and drones are restricted throughout New Hampshire state parks.
