About Armenian Museum of America

The Armenian Museum of America in Watertown presents exhibits that trace Armenian life from ancient times to today, including Armenian Americans' experiences. Its ongoing galleries include an introductory survey of more than 50 objects, a visual account of the 1915 to 1923 genocide and the denial that followed, and a display of portraits by Yousuf Karsh. The collection also includes currency, ceramics, religious textiles, ancient artifacts, and manuscripts. The museum runs a library, an oral history and sound archive, and a shop, and it is a nonprofit organization. Visitors have praised the rugs, pottery, and portraits, and the broad focus on heritage beyond the genocide.
