Walk winding paths past more than 1,000 kinds of New England wildflowers, ferns and shrubs in a glacier-carved woodland garden west of Boston.
180 Hemenway Road, Framingham, MA 01701 · Framingham, MA
Native Plant Trust's botanic garden shows more than 1,000 species of New England native plants on 45 acres just west of Boston. Glaciers shaped the land into eskers and steep little valleys, and the paths pass a brook, a pond and wetlands. Will C. Curtis started the garden in 1931. Adult admission is $18 and youth 5 to 17 pay $8; free guided walks start at 1:30 p.m. on spring and summer weekends. Kids like watching the turtles in the Lily Pond. Dogs are not allowed, and the lot holds only 42 cars.
