About Gardner Lake State Park

Gardner Lake State Park sits on the shore of a 528-acre lake in Salem, Connecticut. Visitors come for a relaxed day by the water, whether fishing, boating, paddling, or swimming. Boaters can reach Minnie Island State Park, the state's smallest state park, which is accessible only by water. The park also has picnic tables near the parking lot, grills near the beach, and a paved boat launch. In winter, the grounds are used for hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing, and visitors must bring their own equipment. The park is managed by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
