Hither Hills is a state park on the eastern end of Long Island's South Fork, near Montauk. Visitors come for the sandy ocean shoreline, where swimming is seasonal, and for sport fishing that runs year-round with the right permit. The park has picnic areas with fireplaces, playing fields, and a playground. Its campground sits near the ocean. Dune formations along Napeague Harbor on the eastern edge add scenery, and wooded areas hold a mix of trees. Bridle paths, hiking trails, biking routes, and cross-country ski trails are also available for outdoor activity.
