Housatonic Meadows is a 452-acre state park along the Housatonic River in Sharon and Cornwall, and the Appalachian Trail crosses it. A two-mile stretch of the river along the park is reserved for catch-and-release fly fishing, and a trout stamp is required. The summer campground has 61 tent and RV sites and four cabins, bookable through Reserve America; sites cost $17 a night for Connecticut residents and $27 for others. Day entry to the park is free, and leashed dogs may use the trails.
