About National Colonial Farm

The National Colonial Farm is a living history museum run by the Accokeek Foundation, an educational nonprofit, inside Piscataway Park. It re-creates a Maryland middle-class family farm set just before the American Revolution. The farm keeps heritage breed livestock and seed saving programs that help preserve rare heirloom crops and animals. Nearby, the foundation runs an organic Ecosystem Farm where visitors can learn about sustainable agriculture. The wider park grounds, trails, and programs are open to the public year-round.
