About Old Salem Museums & Gardens

Old Salem is the restored town founded by Moravian settlers in 1766, now a living-history museum in the middle of Winston-Salem. Its houses, churches, shops and gardens show Moravian life in the 18th and 19th centuries, and the district has been a National Historic Landmark since 1966. One All-in-One ticket covers two consecutive days and includes the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts. Buy tickets at the Visitor Center on Old Salem Road, MESDA or Winkler Bakery. The site closes for all of January.
