About Stony Brook State Park

Stony Brook State Park lies in the hills of Western New York and is known for its wooded gorge and waterfalls. The North Entrance serves day visitors with a picnic area, grills, restrooms, a playground, a natural stream-fed pool, and access to the trails. The Gorge Trail starts near that pool and passes several waterfalls, and the park's rim trails follow the cliffs above. Campsites and rustic cabins sit in the woods above the gorge at the South Entrance, and two pavilions can be reserved for gatherings. Some trail sections are closed during the 2026 season, and parts of the park close for winter. Bow hunting for deer is allowed in season, and most areas are open for other activities during the warmer months.
