An 800-acre Monroe County park on the Genesee River, known for its rowing, golf, ball fields, and waterside trails.
Rochester, NY
Genesee Valley Park covers about 800 acres where Red Creek, the Genesee River, and the Erie Canal meet. Frederick Law Olmsted designed its rolling landscape. Visitors find trails along the river and canal, a bike route, and the Genesee Valley Greenway. The park also offers softball diamonds, multi-use fields, a cricket pitch, and two 18-hole golf courses. Management is split between Monroe County and the City of Rochester, with the sports complex and indoor pool falling under city control west of the river. Seven open-air shelters can be rented in warmer months, and the Genesee Rowing Club operates on the waterways inside the park.
