Andersonville National Historic Site in southwest Georgia preserves the grounds of the Civil War's Camp Sumter military prison, the Andersonville National Cemetery and the National Prisoner of War Museum. Friends of Andersonville, a nonprofit established in 1988, supports the park's interpretation, education and preservation work through the Andersonville Trust endowment. The National Park Service operates the site and charges no entrance fee.
