About Indian Well State Park

Indian Well State Park covers 153 acres on the west bank of Lake Housatonic, a dammed stretch of the Housatonic River in Shelton. It has a sandy beach with lifeguards in summer, a shaded picnic grove, the only public boat launch on the river and a 15-foot waterfall with a rocky pool. The blue-blazed Paugussett Trail runs through the park. Parking is free for Connecticut cars; out-of-state vehicles pay $15 on weekends and holidays, $10 on weekdays and $6 after 4 p.m.
