Kettletown State Park sits on the eastern shore of Lake Zoar, a freshwater reservoir on the Housatonic River. The park offers more than six miles of trails with varied terrain and scenic lake views, along with a shaded picnic area and a campground. Visitors come in every season for hiking, fishing, and camping, and the park also offers day-use areas and youth group campsites. The land was once home to the Pootatucks, whose village was submerged when the river was dammed in 1919. Some campground and trail areas remain closed after 2024 flood damage, so check current status before visiting.
