A huge northeastern New York wilderness of mountains, lakes, rivers, and forests, with many small towns and year-round outdoor recreation.
Multiple communities, NY
Adirondack Park covers a vast region of northeastern New York centered on mountain ranges, clear lakes, rivers, and deep forests. Visitors can hike to rocky lookouts, paddle calm waters, ride whitewater, ski, snowmobile, and camp in backcountry or developed sites. The park is divided into ten regions, each with its own towns, historic places, and events. Much of the land is privately owned, while the remainder is state-owned Forest Preserve. Land use across the park is overseen by the Adirondack Park Agency.
