Lake Placid hosted the Winter Olympics in 1932 and 1980, and this museum inside the Olympic Center tells both stories. The collection includes the Fram III bobsled from 1932, missing for more than sixty years before it was donated, the skates Jack Shea wore in the same Games, and memorabilia from the 1980 Miracle on Ice hockey team. New York State opened the museum in 1994, and it now has interactive exhibits. Check the museum's site for current hours and ticket prices before you go.
