Essex River Basin Adventures began in the spring of 1994 with the excitement of three men who loved kayaking and knew that it was an expanding sport. Richard "Ozzie" Osborn, Tom Ellis, and Robert Hanlon shared a vision of providing guided tours of the incredible Essex River Basin area.

Park in the municipal lot behind the Essex Fire Station at 24 Martin St, which is just a short walk to ERBA up Pickering St. Please arrive one hour prior to the tour, which allows ERBA staff to fit visitors to the boat and handle other pre-tour steps necessary for a great experience.

Wear a bathing suit or shorts, t-shirt, or light top-layer. A light nylon rain jacket is great if there is potential for rain. Avoid jeans or sweatshirt during chilly weather, as cotton tends to stay wet and cold. Polar fleeces or polyester tops work well for colder days.

Bring water (also available to buy at ERBA), sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses attached to a strap, a snack if desired, and a change of clothes. Ziplock bags or dry bags are also recommended (dry bags are available to buy at ERBA).
