What should you bring for your paddle? They recommend wearing comfortable workout-type clothing or a bathing suit, short answer, something you don’t mind getting wet! No need to bring a PFD as those are included with your rental.
They offer waterproof phone cases to borrow for your paddle. So don’t miss out on taking pictures while on the water; help yourself to a waterproof phone case for the trip.
Think you might be hungry or thirsty after your paddle? Luckily, they are steps away from a DQ so that you can enjoy an ice cream, or taking a few more steps will lead you to Patty’s Pub for good food and local drinks.
Most renters are first-timers! People often get nervous about SUP for the first time thinking it is difficult, but it is a lot easier and more fun than you may think.
Ottawa SUP has been fortunate to have multiple professional athletes and teams come rent from them, including Team Canada’s Paralympic Swim team and some players from our local CFL football team.
They have specially designed all of the paddle boards to meet the needs of both the renters and the waterway. Ottawa SUP's local brand is Rideau Paddle Company, and their boards are available for purchase.
