Haunted Happenings - Salem, MA
The 1692 Salem Witch Trials made the city infamous around the world, and today, Salem, MA is a Halloween hotspot, attracting thousands of visitors every year. Salem's annual Halloween celebration, Haunted Happenings, features hundreds of events throughout the entire month of October, most of which are family-friendly. Festivities kick off on October 5 with the Twenty-Second Annual Grand Parade. Other highlights include family-friendly programming on "Wicked Wednesdays", free family movie nights on Fridays, street fairs, and trick-or-treating.
Flashlight Maze - Connors Farm
The annual corn maze at Connors Farm, located just north of Boston in Danvers, MA, is a New England fall tradition that attracts visitors from all over the region. The massive seven-acre corn maze is one of the largest in New England, while the farm also boasts plenty of activities to fill an entire day, including hayrides, bounce houses, barnyard animals, and duck races. On Friday and Saturday evenings in October, the maze is open after dark for one of the creepiest Halloween events in Boston. The Flashlight Maze is not staffed by actors and is not haunted, but try not to look twice at the shadows on the path while exploring this dark, isolated corn field.
Haunted Boston Ghost Tour
Haunted Boston's popular Ghost Tour takes visitors through the streets of Boston and explores the darker side of Boston's history. These ninety-minute walking tours depart nightly at 8:00 PM and are appropriate for children ages eight and up. Tour participants will visit many of the city's most iconic haunted spots, including the Omni Parker House, the Boston Common, the Old Granary Burying Ground, and the Boston Athenaeum.
